A new Booking.com study, released on 22APR, finds that a large majority of Canadian travellers feel travelling more sustainably is important. But they say its not a primary consideration when planning or booking a trip, and 26% even report they are tired of hearing about climate change all the time.

According to Booking.com’s Travel Trends data, 45% of travelers worldwide are interested in attending sporting events such as the World Cup, Paris Olympics, and Formula 1 races. Additionally, Booking.com’s flight statistics show that India is among the five Asian countries that have booked flights for the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympics."

The Booking.com report found that 62 percent of travelers realize they are the best version of themselves when they make conscious travel choices. Today, Booking.com releases new research, with insights gathered from more than 31,000 travellers across 34 countries and territories, exploring the latest consumer attitudes, priorities and influences related to sustainable travel.

Booking.com’s 2024 travel predictions report found that 51% of travelers agree that climate change will impact the way they plan their vacation in 2024, while just under half (48%) say that as temperatures soar close to home, they will use their vacation to cool down elsewhere.

Booking.com surveyed over 31,000 travelers across 34 countries worldwide, asking their opinions about sustainability and travel. Eighty-two percent of American travelers agreed that sustainable travel was important. Among Americans, 74 percent desire to travel more responsibly over the next year, with 42 percent reporting they would feel guilty making less sustainable travel decisions.

Statistics released by Booking.com showed that Auckland was the most sought-after destination for New Zealanders planning trips from December 2023 through to the end of February 2024. It was followed by Wellington, Queenstown, and Christchurch, respectively.
