Booking.com Reveals 9 Dreamy Destinations for a More Sustainable Getaway in 2024

Booking.com’s Sustainable Travel Report 2024* reveals that seeing sustainable practices while traveling inspires 67% of global travelers to be more sustainable in their everyday life. And with three quarters (75%) wanting to ensure that trips they’re taking over the next year are more mindful and eco-conscious, Booking.com is continuing its mission to make it easier for everyone to experience the world—one sustainable step at a time. 

To complement its annual sustainable travel research, Booking.com is revealing a list of destinations from around the world that have noteworthy numbers of sensational stays with a credible third-party certification**. From quaint coastal towns to bikeable second cities, there’s a destination for every type of traveler that can help them have a more positive impact with their next trip, from check-in and beyond. 
 

Monterey, United States
 

The coastal town of Monterey is renowned for its quintessentially Californian landscapes: think  cypress-lined coves, dramatic cliffs, and white sandy beaches. Monterey is often a popular destination for those traveling through the Pacific Coast Highway and is frequented for its rich history as one of California’s oldest towns and abundant wildlife. In order to participate in this survey, respondents had to be 18 years of age or older, had to have traveled at least once in the past 12 months and must be planning to travel in 2024, and be either the primary decision maker or involved in the decision making of their travel. The survey was taken online and took place in February 2024.
