Six Cricket Destinations to Celebrate the ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup 2021

With the International Cricket Council (ICC) Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 fast approaching, some fans can finally experience matches in person and feel the excitement within the stadium. Our research shows that 46% of global travelers are excited to travel abroad for a sporting event as travel restrictions ease*, and while some fans may not be able to travel to Oman or the UAE to watch the ICC Men’s T20 tournament live, We are sharing six destinations around the globe to inspire cricket fans to bring their cricket dreams to life as restrictions continue to ease and it becomes safe and responsible to travel again. Melbourne, Australia

Known locally as ‘The G’, Melbourne Cricket Ground is the largest stadium in the Southern Hemisphere and the perfect place to join in with the cheering crowds after being restricted to watching sport from home. The first-ever Test match in cricket history (between rivals Australia and England) took place at this mammoth stadium in 1877. But the most electric atmosphere to be found here is easily on the test match on the day after Christmas on Boxing Day, when the crowd reaches euphoric heights.

It was built in 1814 and named after Thomas Lord, the owner of Marylebone Cricket Club (the body that controls the laws of cricket) at the time. History has been made here, with over 100 Test matches played and numerous records won by the English cricket team. Enjoy a cold beer or a glass of Pimm’s as a spectator and enjoy the scenic view of the Victorian pavilion and luscious green grounds.
