Ok, so Australia isn't renowned for it's skiing and generally we're not amazing with cold weather (we all know guys who wear boardies year-round), but that's all part of the reason why, for Australians, going to the snow is so. Much. Fun! Make it down your first slope (albeit green) and your face will hurt from smiling.

Aug. 6 kicks off Thredbo's 25th Top2Bottom weekend. This year La Folie Douce are performing. It's safe to say the dancing will be wild and the G.H. Mumm champagne will be flowing.

The European style Thredbo Alpine Hotel is a two minute walk (even with all your gear) to the Valley Terminal and chairlifts: Kosciuszko Express, Snowgums Chairlift and Merrits Chairlift. The beds here as as close to the slopes as you can get.

Thredbo was founded as a ski resort back in 1955, and hence the site of many NSW family holidays. Which means Torah Bright isn't the only one with pictures of her adorable childhood-self rocking 80's snow threads.
