Pilgrimage destinations popular among Indian travellers for the leap year: reveals Booking.com

Booking.com, the global leader in connecting travellers with the widest choice of unique places to stay at, and making it easier for everyone to experience the world has today revealed the top domestic trending destinations for Indian travellers, sharing insight into where Indians are spending the extra day this year - celebrating the Leap year 2020. The trending destinations cover a wide range of places from pilgrimage destinations, and hill stations to beach destinations.

Top trending destinations during the leap day weekend:

Katra - Vaishno Devi, Jammu and Kashmir

Lucknow - Uttar Pradesh

Ajmer - Rajasthan

Morjim - Goa

As most parts of India gear up for summers, Indian travellers have picked up destinations with pleasant weather to spend their upcoming leap year weekend. Pilgrimage destinations like Katra - Vaishno Devi, Ajmer- Rajasthan, Puri - Odisha, Amritsar - Punjab have featured on the top 10 list. While hill stations like Shimla - Himachal Pradesh, Lonavala - Maharashtra too have found a spot. Indians have also explored beach destinations like Morjim and Baga - Goa for their weekend before the summer humidity kicks in.
