According to research by Booking.com, 29%* of US travelers say that minimalism is the most appealing interior design type. With this in mind, the global leader in connecting travelers with the widest choice of incredible places to stay has delved into its more than 28 million reported listings in over 147,000 destinations around the globe to curate a list of unique places to stay for travelers seeking a minimalist aesthetic for their next vacation. That group may be larger than you would expect, as over half of global travelers (54%)** revealed that one of their main motivations to travel is to experience a simpler lifestyle.
Shikoku, Japan

In order to participate in this survey, respondents had to be 18 years of age or older, had to have travelled at least once in the past 12 months and be either the primary decision maker or involved in the decision making of their travel. The survey was taken online and took place between October 16th and November 12th, 2018.
