Booking.com Champions Unforgettable Travel Experiences with Second Annual #BookingHero Competition

Booking.com officially opens nominations to celebrate hospitality providers who go above and beyond with a chance to win $28k to spend on Booking.com

NEW YORK, NEW YORK — OCTOBER 2, 2018 — Whether it’s a dream wedding in Central Park, a once-in-a-lifetime adventure in the mountains of Sri Lanka or a family’s search for their roots in Scotland, hospitality providers go out of their way each and every day to help create truly memorable experiences for their guests. Today Booking.com, the global leader in connecting travelers with the widest choice of incredible places to stay, announces the launch of the second annual #BookingHero competition. With the aim of championing and celebrating these unique stories, Booking.com is inviting customers to tell the world about someone at an accommodation who made their trip unforgettable for a chance to win $28,000 of Booking.com credit – both for them and their #BookingHero.

To nominate their #BookingHero and enter the competition, Booking.com customers from all around the world simply need to share their story on Facebook or Instagram and make sure to include the following information:

  1. Where they stayed on their Booking.com trip
  2. The first name of their #BookingHero and (if relevant) their role at the property
  3. How the #BookingHero went above and beyond
  4. The #BookingHero hashtag (and for USA residents, also #contest) and if on Instagram, make sure the account is set to public and tag @bookingcom

Booking.com will choose the three most exceptional stories of hospitality providers going out of their way to create unique and unforgettable travel experiences. One exceptional #BookingHero and the customer who nominated them will each win $28k to spend on Booking.com, with two runners-up and their nominating customers each winning $5.7k in Booking.com travel credit.

  • David and his wife Virginia traveled from Canada to Scotland in search of his roots. They were ready to give up when Karen, owner of Blackburn Villa B&B, made a surprising discovery.
  • Harry and his girlfriend Nienke were at the top of Ella Rock when he fell and was injured. Helpless, they arrived at Tunnel Gap Homestay, where heavily-pregnant owner Sudarshi took them in.
  • Els always dreamed of having her wedding photos taken in Central Park. But when everything went wrong, Alina from citizenM Hotel took matters into her own hands.

Booking.com is accepting nominations on Facebook and Instagram until 31 October, 2018. Winners will be announced in January 2019.
