Many of us have been recently motivated by an energetic tidying expert from Japan who is inspiring people around the world to change their state of mind and way of life by simplifying and organizing their homes.

In line with this new trend and according to our research, 34%* of global travelers actually say that minimalism is the most appealing interior design type. With this in mind, we have curated a list of unique places to stay for travelers that are seeking a minimalist aesthetic for their next trip. If that's you, then you're in good company, as over half of global travelers (54%)** revealed that one of their main motivations to travel is to experience a simpler lifestyle.

 

Shikoku, Japan

Respondents completed an online survey in November 2017

In order to participate in this survey, respondents had to be 18 years of age or older, had to have travelled at least once in the past 12 months and be either the primary decision maker or involved in the decision making of their travel. The survey was taken online and took place between October 16th and November 12th, 2018.
