Six Stays to Experience the Excitement of the ICC Cricket World Cup

From 30 May to 14 July, England and Wales will host the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup. With 10 of the best cricket teams in the world playing off in 48 matches across 11 stadiums, travelers have the epic opportunity to explore their passion for cricket while following their curiosity to discover and experience parts of England and Wales. With the International Cricket Council (ICC) and Booking.com coming together in a five-year global partnership and a quarter (24%) of global travelers thinking about traveling for a sports event in 2019*, we present six exciting stays for cricket fans who haven’t yet booked their place to stay near some of the big matches. Whether attending a cricket game, enjoying the energetic atmosphere in one of the quintessential local pubs or just combining your love for cricket with a lovely weekend escape, there is a great stay for every kind of cricket supporter.

 

Sophia Gardens Apartment, Cardiff 

Located just a short walk away from the Cardiff Wales Stadium in the Sophia Gardens Cricket Ground, Sophia Gardens Apartment is a fully equipped apartment that will be in the middle of the cricket action but is also a great base to explore the city of Cardiff. The Welsh capital has plenty of sports pubs, a niche music scene, affordable eateries, and bargain-filled vintage shops. The apartment is also very close to Cardiff Castle, an 11th century castle that’s one of Wales’ major heritage attractions and worth visiting during your stay.
