LIVING THE HIGH LIFE

LIVING THE HIGH LIFE

Where to stay in the most expensive cities on a shoestring budget

Auckland, New Zealand – 18TH APRIL 2016

The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) has revealed its annual list of the most costly places to live around the world. Singapore remains in the top spot, followed by Zurich and Hong Kong. Looking at the ranking of New Zealand cities, Auckland sits joint 38th with Madrid, Barcelona and Brussels. Wellington follows closely at 42nd equal with Nouméa, Stockholm and Seattle.

Travellers might think this prohibitive pricing is restrictive of their adventures, but they’d be wrong. Proving you can visit and enjoy these incredible destinations on a shoestring budget, Booking.com has accommodation for each city that while affordable, won’t make you feel you’ve missed out on truly experiencing the city.

Here’s the EIU’s Top 10 most expensive cities, with affordable accommodation, priced in New Zealand Dollars, to explore.
