Canada’s Perfect 10 Accommodations

Six Canadian Properties awarded flawless scores in Booking.com’s annual Guest Review Awards

TORONTO, January 22 2016: Whether it’s a luxury hotel in Ontario, a farmhouse B&B in Alberta or a First Nations longhouse in Québec, all are striving for that faultless guest rating, a 10/10 average score that says every element of a guest’s stay was utter perfection. No easy task, yet Booking.com, the global leader in connecting travellers with the widest choice of incredible places to stay, has just announced that six Canadian properties managed to achieve this flawless score as their average guest rating for this past year. This Perfect 10 represents their dedication to providing an exceptional experience for each and every guest.

The Booking.com Guest Review Awards recognized 262 properties who received perfect scores, out of the over 855,000 accommodations from around the world. These properties demonstrate an outstanding commitment to hospitality and service provided to guests across the globe. No two properties are ever the same, yet all of this year’s winners share the same core principles including great value, a warm welcome, friendly hosts and a feeling of home.

The six outstanding Canadian properties that achieved that ultimate perfect rating are:

Michael Coughlin, owner of the Stonehouse Bed and Breakfast in Ganges gives us his insight on what makes a Perfect 10 property.

“The jaw-dropping beauty of its setting, amazing art and architecture, and relaxed luxury of its appointments make Stonehouse B&B a destination rather than just a place to stay, and exceeding expectations with warm hospitality and gourmet breakfasts is our perpetual goal, says Coughlin. “We are delighted to learn that Stonehouse B&B is among the handful of properties who achieved perfect scores on Booking.com guest reviews in 2015. We are grateful for all visitors who stayed with us over the year and especially to those who took the time to share their Stonehouse experiences on-line for other travellers to read. It is so satisfying to know that our efforts to provide a unique Salt Spring Island experience have been so well received. We look forward with anticipation to welcoming many new and returning guests in 2016 and all the happy memories they will share from their experience here in BC’s fabled Southern Gulf Islands,” he adds.

The 2015 results also reveal Canada is no stranger to providing outstanding hospitality with 4,535 Canadian properties receiving recognition from Booking.com for earning an overall rating score of 8.8 and above.

Recent research from Booking.com indicated that 85% of all holiday-makers feel that first-hand reviews from previous guests helps them make a more assured decision about where to stay. With over 73 million real and relevant guest reviews on the website and mobile app (only a customer who has booked through Booking.com and stayed at the property in question can write a review) allows not only guests to receive insightful recommendations, but also helps property owners to further improve their quality and service. Following their stay, guests can review and rate a property based on six categories including cleanliness, comfort, location, facilities, staff and value for money.

Behind each Guest Review Award is a whole year filled with real guests, real experiences and real reviews. 283,119 Guest Review Awards will be presented in total to those properties who rated an average review score of 8 or more. Only those properties with at least ten reviews were included, to ensure that all winners had been consistently excellent.
