Business Travellers for Business research reveals that a staggering 26 percent of Australian business travellers would accept a lower paying job if it meant they could travel more for work. These findings reflect a broader trend which reveals that employees are increasingly smudging the line between business and leisure.

Holiday parks are a great option for the business/leisure travellers. Discovery Parks has listed seven reasons why business travellers might be better off staying at a holiday park for their next work trip, and how holiday parks can market and appeal to business guests.

1. Accommodation optionsThe beauty of staying at a holiday park is the variety of accommodation options that are available. From spacious and comfortable self-contained cabins or villas to studios with plenty of room to stretch out inside. If guests need to work from the park, there is enough space in the cabin to spread papers out on a desk or table. From multi-bedroom cabins with a veranda to modern studio apartments, each holiday park has its own set layout.

2. Cook your ownGuests can wake up, put on the kettle and make brekky in their pyjamas.

3. Park a car (for free)A guest’s worst nightmare is driving in circles for 20 minutes looking for a park, only to find paid parking will cost a ridiculous amount. Parking is not an issue while staying at holiday parks. They can accommodate larger cars, utes with trailers and commercial vans. The best thing – they are almost always free.

4. Facilities and featuresHoliday parks offers great facilities and features that cover travel needs. They have laundry facilities for guests. Depending on the park, the usual facilities are: BBQs, camp kitchens, meeting & conference rooms, on-site dining hall or cafe and swimming pools. Some even have kayak, paddle board or boat hire.

5. Affordable priceAt the end of the day, guests (and the company’s paying for their travel) are thinking about the bill. While a room (and only a room) in a traditional accommodation may cost upwards of $150, holiday parks provide a significant saving. The remaining budget (yes, we all know that term) can be used for better things e.g. a great meal!

6. LocationsWhat’s so great about staying at a holiday park for work? Locations, locations. Holiday parks are often situated at some of the most beautiful locations in the country. Guests can easily unwind and explore the nearby region – combining business with pleasure.

7. CommunityUnlike traditional accommodation, it offers both the privacy of a own self-contained space and the opportunity to have a yarn with other travellers. Some holiday parks have regular movie, BBQ and roast beef nights that are open to all guests to enjoy.
