   1. The history

Mexico is steeped in rich history and you can’t visit the country without immersing yourself in this, by visiting one of the many UNESCO World Heritage Sites that Mexico has to offer. Chichen Itza is an archaeological site comprising of complex Mayan ruins, situated on Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula. The ruins include a step-pyramid, known as El Castillo or Temple of Kukulcan, which thrived between 600 A.D. to the 1200s.
