When thinking about their travel in 2018, more than one in three (36%) global travelers said that they are inspired to visit a destination because they saw it on TV, in a film or music video. Moreover 40% of global travelers say they want to stay in a unique type of accommodation they have never stayed in before.
With those two requirements in mind, Booking.com, the global leader in connecting travelers with the widest choice of incredible places to stay, has explored it’s more than 28 million listings to present six unique places to stay that were formerly occupied by celebrities or other famous personalities. So even if you aren’t rich and famous, you can at least live like you are while on vacation by booking a place to stay with a famous past.
Hacienda San Angel, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico Located in Puerto Vallarta, Hacienda San Angel is an elegant boutique hotel with lush gardens and an open-air wedding chapel. The history of this one-of-a-kind hotel is filled with glamour and romance. In total 18,509 respondents were surveyed (1,000+ from the UK, US, Brazil, China, Germany, Italy, Spain, France, India, Singapore and Russia and 500+ each from Australia, Argentina, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Hong Kong, Croatia, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Sweden, Thailand and Taiwan).
